Santigold is celebrating 10 years of her self-titled debut album by embarking on a nationwide "10 Years Golder Tour." Santigold is stopping by Chicago's Vic Theater on May 8th where she will perform her entire debut album in full as well as other tracks from her extensive discography.
Santigold's last full-length LP, 99 Cents, dropped in 2016, but she released a surprise EP just last summer. The new EP I Don't Want: The Gold Fire Sessions is a tropical and upbeat mixtape that makes it hard not to get up and dance.
The singer addresses a catcaller in the opening track "Coo Coo Coo."
"Starts to feel like stalking, I don't feel you go away / Can't share my space for walking, got some place to be," Santigold sings over a marimba.
The following track, "Run the Road," nods to her earlier music, but with a more electronic mix. Santigold's unique low, drawn-out vocals melt perfectly over dancehall and ska-influenced instrumentals.
You can catch Santigold performing this special anniversary tour at The Vic with opener Naeem (FKA Spankrock). Keep an eye on our blog for a review of this special show.
