In 2019, WLUW had the distinct pleasure of recording a studio session with Chicago indie rock band, Modern Vices ahead of their sophomore album, If Only. Comprised of vocalist Alex Rebek, drummer Pat Hennessey, bassist Miles Kalchik, and guitarists Thomas Peters and Peter Scoville, Modern Vices have found a way to harness that classic garage rock tone with a new-wave and soulful twist.
The band is known for their unrelenting devotion to the Chicago scene, their irresistibly catchy hooks and refined garage rock sound. This studio session reflects their collective growth from their 2014 self-titled record, while still showing glimpses of their youth through their upbeat and beachy production.
