All I Need is to see Alexalone

My experience at the concert for the Austin, Texas instrumental rock band Alexalone was an incredible and unique phenomenon that I have never experienced before. The venue that the band played at was known as the Empty Bottle in the neighborhood of Ukrainian Village. Although the bar was small, the backstage area behind the curtains was huge. The room was a full house that was packed with superfans. The bartenders were kind and free refills were offered for every soft drink that was purchased. Doors were open at 9 and the opening act known as OK Cool performed at around 9:45pm
OK Cool is an indie rock brand from Chicago, Illinois that consists of lead singer Bridget Stiebris, back-up singer and bassist Haley Blomquist, guitarist Tommy Kessler, and drummer, Josh Kayne. They began with an up tempo song and then went midtempo on the second song. For the third song, they slowed down to a ballad and then went back to an up tempo song which featured lead vocals from the female bassist. They then went to play a song with a 70s beat and then finished with a cover song. Throughout the performance, Bridget interacted with the audience and even made a joke about beer and how it energizes her as a performer even though she shouldn’t be drinking it. Overall, the performance was great and wrapped up around 10:30.
At around 10:45 pm, the band Alexalone came to grace everyone with their presence. the band consists of lead singer and guitarist Alex Peterson, bassist and backup vocalist Drew Hulett, also known as Drewsky, and drummer and backup vocalist Sam Jordan. When Alexalone entered the stage, everyone screamed for them. They started off by singing one of their up tempo songs called "Electric Sickness." They then went and performed an instrumental piece that was called "ANGELMAKER" that lasted for 10 minutes. For their third song, they performed a combination vocal/instrumental song entitled "FULL BODY LEARNING." Finally, they closed the show with an instrumental song entitled "Eavesdropper."
Once the show was over, the lead singer Alex thanked everyone for coming to the show and that they were happy to come all the way over there from Texas. Once the show wrapped up, I met Alex Peterson and they thanked me for seeing their performance. To help me write this article, they gave me the setlist. They were very nice and very helpful. The unique qualities that I liked most about this group was that they all shared the vocals together and took the time to play strong instrumentals so that the audience can savor the music. The show wrapped up at around 11:30!
